Our community is suffering because of the shortage of mariners.
Our program will assist participants who seek to obtain their Ordinary Seaman Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC). Participants who successfully obtain their MMC can use it when applying for entry-level work on the ferries or at other local employers, such as some freight and tugboat services.
Our program does not guarantee either that participants will obtain their MMC or that participants will successfully apply for or obtain maritime jobs.
Donations to the EDC, a 501c6 nonprofit organization, are not deductible as charitable deductions, but may be deductible as a business expense. Please consult your CPA for more information.
